Man Utd weighing up Edinson Cavani transfer but fear £360k-a-week striker could become the next Alexis Sanchez
MANCHESTER UNITED have been offered the chance to sign Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain this month, according to reports.
The Red Devils' strike force has been depleted by the serious injury suffered by Marcus Rashford against Wolves in the FA Cup.
The Chilean was signed from Arsenal in January 2018, with United having been willing to match his astonishing £560,000-a-week wage demands.
With the 31-year-old badly flopping though, the club had to take a huge financial hit when they let him go to Inter Milan on loan in the summer.
Cavani has endured an injury-hit season in Paris, only managing nine appearances in Ligue 1, bagging two goals.
But his previous goalscoring pedigree, only two strikes shy of 200 in PSG colours, could prompt United to take the risk on him.

Atletico Madrid are thought be leading the chase for the in-demand Cavani, with Chelsea also in the mix.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also let Romelu Lukaku leave Old Trafford for the San Siro in the summer, and with Rashford's injury, is left with just Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood in attack.
This has lead to the Red Devils speeding up their striker search, with the likes of Moussa Dembele and even Carlos Tevez having been linked.
