Twitter lock Gary Lineker’s account after complaints about video of Alan Shearer celebrating Newcastle win vs Chelsea
GARY LINEKER'S Twitter account was suspended after he posted a video of Alan Shearer celebrating Newcastle's last-gasp winner against Chelsea.
The Match of the Day presenters were watching feeds of the Premier League clash together as Isaac Hayden fired Toon to victory in injury-time.
Magpies legend Shearer, 49, danced with joy after the strike and his colleague captured the moment for his Twitter followers.
But Lineker, 59, later hit out after posting a message he received about his account being blocked over complaints of copyright infringements.
Presumably the issue was that footage of the game could be seen in the background of the brief clip but many fans shared the view that the reaction was over the top.
Lineker re-posted the video - which has been watched over 600,000 times - last night with a shrugging emoji.
Toon boss Steve Bruce admitted he had work to do but was delighted with Hayden's late impact.
He told MOTD: "I can't fault my players for the way we defended.
“The big thing we need to do better is look after the ball and cause more of a threat. Today we didn't seem to carry a threat.
“But one great ball or delivery - you may call it smash and grab, but it is good to see.
"We can't press from the front like Chelsea do. If we did that we would come a cropper. We have to do it our way, a way that suits the squad we have got.
"We can get better but we have had results against the top teams. They find it difficult to play against us and that's what we try to do."
