EVERTON midfielder Bernard was KO'd from the starting line-up against Man City - by his own team-mate.
Brazilian forward Bernard was spotted clutching his knee during the warm-up at the Etihad.
And it came after 6ft 5in centre-back Yerry Mina clattered into him.
The accidental collision left Bernard on his back and needing treatment from the Everton medical staff.
The 27-year-old's injury was clearly serious, with Carlo Ancelotti forced to make a late change to his starting XI.
Tom Davies came into replace him in the side.

Italian manager Ancelotti, who has won both of his games since taking over, had made five changes to the team that beat Newcastle.
Bernard had been one of the five players coming into the side.
There is no official word from the Toffees about how serious the injury is.
