Man Utd legend Berbatov reveals Christmas traditions at Old Trafford – and it was Sir Alex Ferguson serving the turkey
MANCHESTER UNITED legend Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson would serve the turkey on Christmas Day.
The Bulgarian revealed how things were done at Carrington when Fergie was in charge.
The traditional Boxing Day game interrupts the festive season for footballers, but Berbatov said they still celebrated on Christmas Day - after training was complete.
He told : "When I was at Manchester United, this time of year was always special.
"We would train then afterwards go to the canteen for Christmas dinner and Sir Alex and the staff would serve us the food.
"It was a nice tradition, we all felt like a brotherhood as a team and it was a good thing to have.
Berbatov also had his say on the Premier League and said it would be a Christmas miracle if anyone stopped Liverpool's title charge.
The 38-year-old said: "Going into the second half of the season it will be a miracle if anyone stops Liverpool, for me it won't happen and it's their year.
"They are so far ahead in points, in the way they play football and this season I can't see anyone catching them.
"If someone does catch them, then it will be the stupidest thing that will ever happens and it will only be Liverpool's fault and no one else."
