Arteta ‘wants Volland as first Arsenal transfer’ in January but Leverkusen striker has no goals in nine games
NEW Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is interested in making Bayer Leverkusen striker Kevin Volland his first signing, according to reports.
The Gunners have been scouting the forward, 27, who has bagged five goals this season.

The former Hoffenheim ace last scored in the Bundesliga side’s 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League group stages.

His last goal was in Leverkusen's 2-1 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.
According to , the fact that he is a left-footed striker who can also play on the right flank — as well as in the No9 role — makes him an attractive transfer target.
And with just 18 months left on his current contract, Arsenal would be in a position to offer a lower price.
Leverkusen may well be reluctant to sell Volland in the January transfer window, given they are set to play Porto in the last 32 of the Europa League.
