MIKEL ARTETA is set to be named as the new Arsenal manager within the next 48 hours - but Manchester City are yet to agree a compensation fee.
Gunners chiefs are finalising the paperwork for the City assistant boss to replace Unai Emery after strenuous talks with the Spaniard this week.

But the Premier League champions are haggling over the fee Arsenal must pay them for Arteta.

Arteta is said to have agreed a £5m-per-season deal to takeover in North London and Josh Kroenke, son of owner Stan, flew in from America to approve the move.
But the in-bound Emirates boss was in the dug-out at Oxford on Wednesday night for City's Carabao Cup quarter-final win, having also taken training with Guardiola this week.
Leading up to the midweek cup clash Etihad boss Guardiola confirmed Arteta was locked in negotiations with Arsenal.
But he gave a more restless response when asked what the latest development was for his departing assistant coach.

"I don't have any comment, there is no news. Yesterday I had 48 questions about Mikel, when there's news I will answer it but there's no news.
"I answer the questions, I don't answer any more."
