Valencia begs Man Utd fans to show Paul Pogba love and insists midfielder has never spoken about Real Madrid transfer
FORMER Manchester United skipper Antonio Valencia is urging fans to inspire Paul Pogba back to his best form by showing him love.
The Frenchman, 26, is expected to return to action this month after sitting out since October with an ankle injury.
And ex-team-mate Valencia wants supporters to get behind him - insiting that Pogba has never talked about quitting for Real Madrid.
He told : "Pogba is a star. Do you know what he needs? Love.
"I have heard many rumours about Zidane and Real Madrid, but he never said anything.
"He is a clever person. If at United we give this affection, Pogba will shine."
United have risen to fifth after back-to-back morale-boosting wins over Tottenham and Manchester City
Marcus Rashford scored a derby double, while David De Gea made a brilliant save to deny the Citizens.
And Valencia, 34, hailed the in-form duo as he declared that United are beginning to hit their stride.
He added: "It's difficult to manage such a unique case.
"I see United getting better and better, Rashford is going through a great time.
"They are a solid team behind him, with confidence and a star in De Gea."
