That's where he first met Argentinian legend Maradona - the two were team-mates when Poch was just 21 years old back in 1993.

And today they were reunited as Pochettino attended Gimnasia's home game against Cordoba.

Maradona took over at the strugglers back in September, and it has not been without controversy.

Last month he announced he was quitting the job - before performing a spectacular U-turn.

But fan planned marches and a social media movement started to get him to stay - that did the trick.

NOT HEADING TO BAYERN

Pochettino, meanwhile has had his own problems as far as work is concerned.

He was sensationally sacked by Spurs and replaced by Jose Mourinho last month.

The 47-year-old has been linked with some of Europe's biggest job since the axing.

Manchester United and Real Madrid were the two names being mentioned, despite both clubs already having managers.

And Bayern Munich was also touted as a possible destination - but this has been nipped in the bud.

Christian Falk - head of football at German paper Bild - tweeted: "Exclusive: Mauricio Pochettino will not become coach of FC Bayern. The Argentinian is not one of the candidates for the bosses."

Pochettino, 47, is open to listening to offers with no plans to take an extended break from football.
