Glum Marco Silva arrives at Finch Farm with Everton board at war over who will replace him as manager

MARCO SILVA arrived for Everton training on Tuesday morning with many surprised he was still in a job.

Reports circulated after the home defeat to Norwich that the Portuguese coach's time at Goodison Park was up.

But there remains plenty of indecision at the top before the axe will fall with Sun Sport yesterday detailing a war in the boardroom.

The shortlist of candidates to replace Silva has been whittled down to two names with David Moyes and Mark Hughes the men on their radar.

Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright favours former boss Moyes but owner Farhad Moshiri wants more time to mull over the call.

Agent Kia Joorabchian, who represents both Bernard and Richarlison, is said to be in the ear of the Everton chief.

That could open the door to the agent's former Manchester City compadre Hughes while Rafa Benitez and Eddie Howe are also being looked at.

Either way, it appears Silva's days at Finch Farm are numbered.

A useful win at Southampton appeared to map out an upward looking future for the side following disappointing defeats against Burnley and Brighton.

However Saturday's 2-0 reverse at home to Norwich underlined the lack of progress made under Silva.
