Chelsea legend John Terry slams Carragher and Neville for snubbing him and Man Utd hero Ferdinand in team of the decade
JOHN TERRY took a cheeky swipe at Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher - by insisting he should have made their teams of the decade alongside Rio Ferdinand.
The Chelsea legend was overlooked by both Sky Sports pundits as they selected their Premier League XIs from 2010 to 2019.
While they had different ideas in attack, Neville and Carragher selected David De Gea in goal and went with the same back four of Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany, Virgil van Dijk and Cesar Azpilicueta.
So there was no place for former Chelsea and England skipper Terry, and he was not a happy bunny on social media.
Carragher uploaded the two selected teams on his Instagram page and user @philb1971 called out JT for his opinions.
He asked: "@johnterry.26 so which one you getting in front of? VVD or VC [Kompany]" followed by a series of pondering emojis.
Terry replied: "Both - me and Rio all day long."
Aston Villa's assistant boss won three Premier League titles with Chelsea in the 2010s while Ferdinand collected two winners medals in the decade at Manchester United.
The pair famously fell out when Terry was found guilty by the FA of racially abusing Rio's brother Anton.
He was banned for four matches and fined £220,000 in September 2012 but despite this, it is clear that game recognises game when it comes to legendary English centre-backs.
However, arguing against Kompany being in the side seems a little ridiculous.
The Manchester City legend left this summer after captaining the club to FOUR league successes in the decade.
That includes the dramatic scenes in 2012 and his wonderstrike against Leicester which helped seal the deal last season.
In comparison, some viewers were unconvinced by Van Dijk's inclusion, even if Kompany reckons the ex-Celtic man is the greatest Prem defender.
There is no doubt the Dutch international has been one of the best players in world football since making his switch to Anfield in January 2018.
But whether that justifies his place in the team of the decade is another matter, especially as he has not yet won the Prem.
