Granit Xhaka set for loan move to Inter or AC Milan as axed captain seeks Arsenal exit
GRANIT XHAKA is reportedly set to leave Arsenal on loan in the January transfer window.
The midfield schemer has been left out by Unai Emery since his angry outburst upon being substituted against Crystal Palace last month.
And with Emery having stripped Xhaka of the captaincy, the Switzerland international appears to be headed towards the exit at the Emirates.
Sky Germany claim that city rivals AC Milan and Inter are set to battle it out for the loan signature of Xhaka when the January transfer window opens.
Both sides would look to borrow the 27-year-old, with an option to make it permanent at the end of the season.
Xhaka's former side Borussia Monchengladbach are also interested in bringing Xhaka back to the Bundesliga.
But the player himself is not interested in returning.
Should he want to stay in the Premier League, Newcastle United have also shown an interest in loaning Xhaka.
Steve Bruce feels that the Arsenal man's relationship with Magpies defender Fabian Schar could help to clinch what would be quite a coup for the St James' Park men.
Gunners boss Unai Emery previously said of Xhaka's situation at the Emirates: "As a coach I have a responsibility for the team.
We need a player like Xhaka. But also, I don’t know if he’s going to play (for us) again."
Xhaka has reportedly caused a division in the dressing room at the Emirates, with players divided over Emery's decision to strip him of the captaincy.
And The Athletic believe that he was also involved in a heated exchange with an Arsenal team-mate ahead of the 1-1 draw with Wolves on November 2.
