IT DOESN'T LUC GOOD

Lucas Torreira’s Arsenal future in doubt as agent reveals midfielder ‘no longer at ease’ playing under Unai Emery

LUCAS TORREIRA'S days as an Arsenal player look numbered after his agent admitted he is not happy under manager Unai Emery.

Torreira's second season at the Emirates has seen him start just four Premier League games so far.

Boss Emery has decided Matteo Guendouzi is his first-choice holding player and that has restricted the opportunities for Torreira, 23, to play in his preferred position.

Now agent Pablo Bentancur has suggested it may be time for the midfielder leave Arsenal and move elsewhere.

Bentancur told Calciomercato: “I must say that the change of role has penalised him sharply.

"He is no longer at ease and we hope that things can change.”

Bentancur says the player is not unhappy with the way he has been treated, claiming Torreira is thankful for the chance he has been given in England.

But he admits there has been interest overseas in his man this year, with Atletico Madrid and AC Milan among his many suitors.

The agent added: "We have no problem with Arsenal but only words of thanks. Arsenal has allowed Lucas to compete in the Premier League, he has always shown great confidence.

"Clearly the interest for Torreira are all right, especially by Spanish clubs, but I have never sat down with any club to talk about his transfer.

"This is because of the great respect we have for the Gunners and general manager Raul Sanllehi.

"I don't want to name the teams out of respect, but I can tell you that Atletico tried to take Lucas from Sampdoria two years ago.
