Man Utd fans demand Woodward finally seals Bruno Fernandes transfer after Portugal star scores beauty vs Luxembourg
MANCHESTER UNITED fans are demanding they sign Bruno Fernandes after the midfielder netted a stunner against Luxembourg.
City playmaker Bernardo Silva pinged in a beautiful pass to put through the Sporting Lisbon star.
Fernandes took the ball down with the side of his boot and finished off a perfect move hammering home inside the box to put Portugal 1-0 up.
The 25-year-old midfielder looked bound for the Premier League this summer, but transfer interest from United and Tottenham came to nothing.
But after his latest international strike, Old Trafford chief Ed Woodward has been urged to snap up Fernandes before anyone else does.
One said: "Bruno Fernandes is class, Ed really is a clown for not getting him at United."
Another said: "I’ll never forgive united for not signing Bruno Fernandes I just can’t get over it."
One added: "I hope we go back in for Bruno Fernandes before anyone else when the transfer window opens, really want him at united."
United bosses were put off signing Fernandes after being quoted a price in excess of £60million in the transfer window.
But that was at a time when the club were unsure whether Paul Pogba would be happy to remain at Old Trafford this season and ultimately no bid was made.
Tottenham also made their interest known, and that has continued throughout the season as Christian Eriksen approaches becoming a free agent.
And Fernandes says he is aware of the talk surrounding his future with Sporting - and revealed he is still confident of achieving what he wants to in the game.
He said: "I'm not worried, since 2016 I'm at Sporting and they say I'm leaving, so far I'm fine.
"I have dreams to come true, but I'm not worried, I have no reason to force out, I'm fine, in a club I like.
"On the day I have to leave, if I have to, I hope to leave a good memory."
