The 23-year-old was born in Spain but both of his parents come from Mali - which is a country in West Africa.

It was reported this week that he had decided to switch his international allegiance after making 18 appearances for Spain's youth teams.

Traore has confirmed that he has been in contact with Mali, but has not put pen to paper.

He told the : "The truth is I've spoke with Mali, but didn't sign anything.

"I've been in contact with them and they've shown interest.

"There has been a bit of confusion. I haven't decided yet."

If he snubbed Spain, Mali would incredibly have three Adama Traores in their squad.

But Roberto Moreno wants him to play in Spain's Euro 2020 qualifiers against Malta and Romania.

He has been named in the squad to replace injured Valencia forward Rodrigo.
