Manuel Lanzini suffers horror shoulder injury as West Ham ace leaves stadium in an ambulance

WEST HAM'S miserable evening at Turf Moor got worse as Manuel Lanzini suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder.

The Hammers playmaker, 26, came off the bench with his side trailing 3-0 and went down under an Ashley Westwood challenge in added time.

He immediately clutched his shoulder and needed oxygen before being taken off the field on a stretcher.

Video later emerged of Lanzini leaving the stadium in an ambulance.

Lanzini is one of the Hammers' creative sparks when on form and will be a huge miss for a side who managed just four shots on target against Burnley.

Under-fire boss Manuel Pellegrini also lost Mark Noble to a second-half injury and will need to raise his side to take on London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea over the next two weeks.

He said: "Mark (Noble) has twisted his ankle. Manu has a problem in his shoulder.

"We must wait to see what the doctor says about how long he is out."

Ashley Barnes opened the scoring after 11 minutes before Hammers stopper Roberto threw the ball to an under-pressure Fabian Balbuena.

The centre-back was not warned about Dwight McNeil closing him down and the Clarests ace poached the ball to tee up Chris Wood.

And it only got worse after the break as Roberto punched a corner into his own net to leave his side with no chance.

England midfielder Declan Rice admitted: "It's been like this since the Crystal Palace game. We were nowhere near good enough. We haven't kicked on and we have been poor.

"There is a real buzz around the place during the week but it it gets to the game and we go 1-0 down our heads drop.

"We need to do the basics - the simple five-yard passing, the tackling. We were bullied all over the pitch - Burnley were winning everything. It's not good enough."
