Granit Xhaka left out of Arsenal’s squad for Europa League trip to Guimaraes with Mesut Ozil also missing
GRANIT XHAKA has been left out of Arsenal’s squad for tomorrow’s Europa League match against Vitoria.
The Swiss international is yet to feature for the Gunners since his furious spat with supporters while being substituted against Crystal Palace ten days ago.
Xhaka, 27, was not named as part of the 18 for the 1-1 draw at home to Wolves on Sunday, with many believing he would return for the midweek trip to Portugal.
However, he has been omitted again along with several other high profile absentees.
Mesut Ozil will stay in North London, as will striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and defender David Luiz.
Calum Chambers and youngster Emile Smith Rowe also not included.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery rested both Aubameyang and Luiz for the previous meeting with Vitoria.
And he is believed to have decided to give some of his senior men another breather ahead of the trip to Leicester on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Gunners have won all three of their matches so far in Group F.
And they only need a point from their final three matches to seal their place in the knockout stage.
After Wednesday’s trip to Portugal they will welcome German side Eintracht Frankfurt to the Emirates on November 28.
They conclude their group campaign with an away trip to Belgian outfit Standard Liege on December 12.
