Vidal refuses to speak to Bravo after Chile team-mate’s wife accused him of partying and boozing before World Cup 2018
ARTURO VIDAL still refuses to speak to team-mate Claudio Bravo - and can't see them ever being friends again.
The pair have not seen eye to eye since Bravo's wife accused Chile's squad of partying and boozing during their World Cup qualifying campaign in 2017.
But Vidal and Manchester City ace Bravo were both recently named in Chile's squad for the first time in two years.
The Barcelona midfielder has revealed the pair did not speak following Carla Pardo's comments - but keep it professional for the sake of their team.
Vidal told Chilean newspaper El Mercurio: "Bravo's wife accused us of partying during qualification for the World Cup in Russia and not training because of drunkenness.
"One of the two of us must take a step forward and it isn't me, for that reason I didn't make any problems [at the recent training camp] and we both trained individually.
"He gave everything, as did I, the team could see that.
"We're not friends, nor will we be, but the national team is the most important thing.
"I have said things [to Bravo] and I don't have any reason to say them in the press.
"I am man enough to say things face to face. I don't know if he understood what I said, but we haven't spoken again since then."
Vidal has made just two starts for Barcelona this season after falling out of favour under the management of Ernesto Valverde.
The 32-year-old said: "I am not happy, I am not happy. All my career I have started and this time it hasn't happened.
"I am calm, I am working to turn it over and win the position. I know it will come."
