ARSENAL blew a golden chance to win at the home of the European champions — as Dani Ceballos' spot-kick was saved and Curtis Jones, 18, bagged the winning kick.

Two rockets from the crypt from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Willock made this a pre-Halloween hair-raiser.

But Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Willock thought they had bagged victory on Merseyside before Origi came to the rescue, just as he did in the Champions League final.

Torreira's strike and a Martinelli double put Unai Emery's side 3-1 up after 36 minutes after Shkodran Mustafi's own goal.

And Milner pulled it back just before half-time with a penalty.

Then Mesut Ozil showed presence of mind to pull the ball back for Maitland-Niles from a tight angle.

Cue pot-shots from distance, starting with Ox's volley from the edge of the area — his strike brought back memories of that thumper against Manchester City 18 months ago before his cruel injury.

Then Origi made it 4-4 — just like THAT Andrei Arshavin draw a decade ago.

But Willock had other plans.

His sprint from the centre circle and strike from too far out left rookie keeper Caoimhin Kelleher waving at thin air as the ball rippled the onion bag.

GHOUL-FEST

It was the second time in 66 YEARS Liverpool had conceded five at home and the other was a 2007 6-3 League Cup defeat... to Arsenal.

As injury time kicked in Emery thought they had it won.

But just as in Madrid in June, Origi was in the right place at the right time to take it to spot-kicks.

When Real Madrid loanee Ceballos stepped up, Hector Bellerin, Guendouzi and Martinelli had all slotted home, but Kelleher was a hero in front of the Kop.

When 18-year-old Jones stepped up, the famous old stand seemed to suck the ball in — before bellowing out a huge boom of appreciation.
