ELOKOBI FAN FEUD

Watch furious ex-Wolves player Elokobi jump into stands to ‘confront fan’ at Braintree

FORMER Wolves star George Elokobi went into the stands to reportedly confront a fan after his Maidstone United side drew at Braintree Town.

A video circulating on Twitter shows the defender, 33, surrounded by team-mates before deciding to head back to the field.

One can be heard saying: “Don’t lose your head, George. You’re better than that, George.”

A Braintree fan posted the video, with the caption: “Elokobi has just jumped in the stands after the game and gone for a Braintree fan.

“Everyone’s rushed over to break it all up, absolute scenes. He came out for the warm up claiming “This is my town!” No it isn’t George.”

He later responded to his own tweet to address unconfirmed rumours that racist chants had led to the row.

The supporter added: “I just wanna clarify that there were NO monkey chants. The fan made a comment about his wage and that was it.

“Me and many other witnesses will testify to that should any of these claims be taken further.”

Maidstone took the lead before a late Josh Urquhart earned hosts Braintree a point.

And after the whistle, Stones defender Elokobi was visibly frustrated at something within the stands.

The Cameroonian centre-back left Aldershot for National League South side Maidstone this summer.

Maidstone United have been contacted for comment.
