Arsenal fan spotted wearing £40 DRESSING GOWN at the Emirates as supporters boo Xhaka off the pitch
AN ARSENAL supporter was spotted at the Emirates wearing the club's £40 DRESSING GOWN as fans booed Granit Xhaka off the pitch.
The controversial captain was subbed off by Unai Emery with 61 minutes on the clock after the Gunners surrendered their 2-0 lead at home to Crystal Palace.
Xhaka trudged off at a snail's pace despite the scoreline and was met with a chorus of boos and jeers from the crowd.
The Swiss responded by waving his arms sarcastically, cupping his ear and telling his own supporters to "f*** off" before ripping off his shirt and marching down the tunnel.
And as the photographers inside the ground captured the moment, one shot showed the fan wearing the fluffy loungewear.
He was clearly expecting a quiet afternoon at the Emirates and might even have been hoping to catch an afternoon kip - or the change of the clocks really threw his timing off.
There was no chance of that, though, as Xhaka riled the Gunners faithful with half an hour to go in the 2-2 draw.
And after spending £40 on his 'Arsenal Unisex Supersoft Fleece Dressing Gown', he was clearly keen to wear it at every opportunity - especially with temperatures dropping close to freezing.
The description on the says it is made of 100 per cent polyester, complete with woven club badge and waist corn, and comes in three sizes.
It adds: "This supersoft Arsenal Unisex Fleece Dressing Gown is perfect for those cold mornings to keep you warm and cosy."
It is unknown if the supporter was also wearing some of the other 'popular buys' from the Arsenal website, including the woven boxer shorts, the cannon socks or the £30 reversible leather belt.
It's not the first time something odd has been spotted in the stands at the Emirates.
A supporter went viral when he was seen eating a bag of carrots while watching the Gunners in action.
XHAKA TALKS
Emery confirmed talks will be held with the new club captain internally - and there is a genuine risk he could be stripped off the armband.
His actions were unsurprisingly blasted by pundits and fans alike with Alan Shearer writing in his SunSport column: "I do not know how Granit Xhaka comes back from this.
"The player needs to come out and apologise sharpish to the fans. As captain, you just cannot react to your fans in the way he did.

"There is no way back for Xhaka unless he apologises. The longer he leaves it, the bigger a mistake the incident will turn out to be.
"When supporters have a go at you like that, it is because they are not happy — but he is the team’s captain. So you cannot react like that, telling the fans what to do in that language."
Ian Wright had a go at Xhaka while Piers Morgan labelled him an "absolute disgrace".
