CRISTIANO RONALDO proved even the greatest have off nights after a shocking miss for Juve in their narrow win over Lokomotic Moscow last night.

By his standards, the Portuguese megastar wasn't up to scratch - registering zero goals or assists as Juventus left it late to claim a 2-1 home win in Champions League Group D.

Two late goals from Paolo Dybala ensured the Old Lady of Turin stayed top of the group but talk afterwards was about Ronaldo's earlier miss.

With the teams locked at 0-0, ex-Chelsea man Juan Cuadrado whipped a ball across the box from the right hand side straight into Ronaldo's path but incredibly the ex-Real Madrid man skewed it over the bar at the far post.

Replays showed the 34-year-old was in an offside position but that did not stop fans from laying into him online.

Francisco tweeted: "Should retire now, he's past it."

Other users claimed the miss was "absolutely shocking" despite the fact the ball was travelling at some pace.

And Hassan added: "Hazard and now Ronaldo showing their support for Pepe. Just GOAT things."

Hassan's comment was in reference to Eden Hazard's miss - which was arguably far worse - during Real Madrid's 1-0 victory at Galatasaray on the same night.

Nicolas Pepe also came in for criticism on Monday after he missed a "key chance" during Arsenal's 1-0 defeat at Bramall Lane.

Gunners boss Unai Emery hit out at the winger after the £72million man fluffed his lines.
