Watch Eden Hazard’s ‘miss of the season’ as Real Madrid flop skies open goal and struggles continue in Galatasaray win

EDEN HAZARD'S bid to replace Cristiano Ronaldo as a Real Madrid Galactico took another turn for the worse as he missed a sitter against Galatasaray.

The Belgian winger, 28, was put through on goal thanks to a wonderful through ball from Karim Benzema.

But as he danced into the 18-yard box, he skipped away from Uruguayan keeper Fernando Muslera... but rattled his shot against the crossbar with half the goal to aim at.

Chelsea fans would only be able to let off a wry smile, as Hazard regularly tucked those sorts of chances away for them during his seven seasons at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard's start to life at the Bernabeu has not been plain sailing since his transfer which could rise to £150million — with only one goal to his name so far.

He was hauled off by Zinedine Zidane on 79 minutes, with Real just 1-0 ahead.

In fairness to Hazard, he set up Toni Kroos for the winner after he had the chance to shoot himself, but pulled it back for the German ghosting into the box.

But the 13-time European champions held on to record their first win of the Champions League group stages and finally get up to second in the group.

He's better and he's going to improve more.

Zinedine Zidane

Real lost 3-0 at PSG in the opening match, in what was a hugely disappointing result for Zidane, before drawing 2-2 at home to Club Brugge in a match they probably should have lost.

Zidane has not been helped by injuries to Gareth Bale and Luka Modric — both of whom played for Wales and Croatia in the international break.

The French boss said of the Belgian after the game: "It doesn't worry me.

"He's better and he's going to improve more.

"The important thing is that he continues to have chances, because he's going to put them in."
