The Brazilian legend was given a hero’s welcome

The former Barcelona and AC Milan superstar turned out in a friendly for Sante Fe against Atletico Nacional where he had the fans on their feet.

A throwback to the days when he was crowned the world’s best player in 2005, Ronaldinho produced a wonderful no-look assist to set up his team-mate.

Picking up the ball midway in Nacional’s half, he plays a pinpoint pass through the midfield and defence into the path of Jose Luis Caicedo.

The forward then keeps his cool and slots the ball into the back of the net.

Ronaldinho’s side went onto win 2-0 and fans took to social media to praise the veteran’s ability.

One said: “The Messi-Ronaldo rivalry has made us forget how much of a genius Ronaldinho Gaucho is!!!”

Another simply added: “Class is permanent.”

Ronaldinho officially hung up his boots in 2018 but couldn’t resist a final swansong with Sante Fe.
