Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe suffered concussion after nasty head clash against Nottingham Forest
ARSENAL'S Emile Smith Rowe suffered a nasty concussion during last night's 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest, it has emerged.
The attacking midfielder, 19, was taken off on a stretcher in the 44th minute of their Carabao Cup tie with the Championship side.
The worrying incident happened just seconds before half-time when he attacked a Kieran Tierney cross into the box.
His header was well saved by Forest Arturo Muric, but the focus then switched to the 19-year-old attacking midfielder who lay prone on the floor.
After a pause of a few minutes, he was taken off by stewards with a stretcher.
Scotland star Tierney also made his debut in the match, getting 76 minutes under his belt after spending the start of the season recovering from an injury.
Martinelli — a £6million summer signing from Brazilian side Ituano — grabbed two goals on his full debut, Jo Willock, Reiss Nelson and Rob Holding got Arsenal's other strikes in a 5-0 thumping.
It was a good night for the Gunners players returning to fitness, after Holding and Calum Chambers missed the start of the season.
