When is the Tour de France?

This year's edition of the Tour started on Saturday, July 6.

And the marathon event will continue all the way through to Sunday, July 28.

Every stage of the Tour de France is broadcast live by ITV 4, with additional highlights broadcast at 7pm every night.

ITV 4 is on channel 24 on Freeview, Sky customers can go to channel 120 to see the race and Virgin Media subscribers can select channel 118 to see the Tour.

Will Chris Froome be competing?

The Team Ineos rider is ruled out of this years race as he suffered a serious cycling accident in June.

Froome suffered serious injuries to his ribs, leg and elbow preventing him from riding in this years contest.

Geraint Thomas will therefore be the lead rider for Team Ineos.
