India suffer horror five minutes at Lord’s with ridiculous run-out squeezed between two rain delays during Second Test

Che Pujara charged for a single as a motionless Virat Kohli could only watch with Ollie Pope walking the ball to the stumps

INDIA were up against it early in the second Test against England at Lord's after a mad few minutes on day two reduced them to 15-3.

After losing the toss, Joe Root and Co had the early advantage as they opted to bowl in swing-friendly conditions.

Superstar swinger James Anderson took full advantage too, taking two quick wickets to leave India 11-2 as rain interrupted play.

Hours later, when the rain had subsided, India were left in more trouble after a bonkers five minutes.

Having come back onto the Lord's turf, the players were hauled ALMOST off due to more rain, only to be turned around and told to continue playing as they headed to the pavilion.

Moments later, Che Pujara charged for a quick single with a motionless Virat Kohli staring at his partner allowing Ollie Pope to simply saunter over to the stumps to whip off the bails on his debut.

Of India's last seven run-outs, Pujara has now been involved in a ridiculous seven.

Seconds after the comedy run-out, the players were sent back to the pavilion.

Just two balls - including the embarrassing India wicket - were bowled between rain breaks.

It was a slither of action in a severely weather-affected Test - with the entire first day written off thanks to the Great British summer.

For once, it will be England cursing their bad luck as they've already got a firm grasp of the Second Test - after winning the First in a thriller at Edgbaston.

Despite bowling fewer than nine overs, England have taken three top-order wickets, with even Kohli struggling to battle through the horror conditions.

The Indian star was the tourists' only real source of runs in the Birmingham Test.

But should conditions stay the way they are, he's unlikely to add many more to his impressive start to the England tour.
