Amir Khan targets Manny Pacquiao showdown before quitting boxing for good
AMIR KHAN is eyeing a desert dust-up with Manny Pacquiao before he bows out of boxing.
The Brit will get £7million when he faces Indian Neeraj Goyat in Saudi Arabia on July 12 — three months after being beaten by WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford.
But Khan, 32, says he still has unfinished business — and Pacquiao is his top target.
The Filipino legend, 40, defends his WBA welterweight title against Keith Thurman next month.
Khan said: “There’s always been talk about Manny Pacquiao and maybe we can get him in the ring this time. It would be a good way to finish.
“It’s one of the reasons I’m taking this fight now. I know there’s a bigger picture at the end of it.
“There could be a big name at the end of the year or early next year where we could be fighting one of the best fighters in the world and could be for a title fight.
“We had talks with the top ministers and Saudi Arabia is so behind boxing.
“They don’t just want to do one show, but many shows.
“A fight with Manny Pacquiao would set boxing in the Middle East forever.
“Normally, fights like that would happen in Vegas.
“At the same time, it would be great for me to say I fought the best up and down the divisions, from all over. This is the last chapter in my career.”
