Claressa Shields unifies division after unanimous points win over Christina Hammer
American two-time Olympic gold medallist labelled herself "the greatest woman of all time" after an impressive display against the German fighter
CLARESSA SHIELDS claimed to be "the greatest woman of all time" after she unified the women's middleweight division with a unanimous decision win over Christina Hammer.
The American two-time Olympic gold medallist held onto her WBA, WBC and IBF belts and won Hammer's WBO title at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Saturday.
Shields, 24, has now moved to 9-0 after an impressive display against Hammer, 28, in what was touted as the "biggest fight in women's boxing history".
"T-Rex" was quick, aggressive and defended well as the Kazakhstan-born German fighter was gradually drifting into survival mode throughout the fight.
And as a result, two judges scored the bout 98-91 in her favour while the third one had it 98-92.
Shields couldn't contain her joy after the glorious victory.
She said: "I am the greatest woman of all time, give me that. You all told me I couldn't do it.
"Women's boxing is on fire. I cannot wait to see the next super fight, whoever is in between.
"Right now, I'm the undisputed champion of the world."

Shields also challenged undisputed female welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus to fight her next.
Hammer was humble after the loss and gave credit to her rival.
She tweeted: "Respect to Claressa Shields for becoming the undisputed champion tonight. Tonight was not my night but I will be back."
