‘Embarrassed’ Kash Ali apologises for biting David Price four times
Ali had beer thrown over him and was confronted by one angry fan after he getting disqualified for sinking his teeth into heavyweight rival Price who was left with bite marks on his chest
KASH ALI has apologised for his despicable biting of David Price.
Ali, 27, was described as an “animal” after he bit down on the Liverpool brawler four times during their heavyweight bout, before he was disqualified.
But Ali has apologised for his actions, which sparked outrage among the crowd and boxing fans watching on TV.
He said: “I am sorry to all boxing fans, to my team, my family, the British Boxing Board, David Price and his team.
“I am hugely embarrassed for my actions and the way the whole fight unfolded.
“The occasion got the better of me and those who know me, including David, can testify that my behaviour on Saturday during the fight was not a true reflection of who I am.
“I expressed my regret from the moment it happened and even more so now.”
He just wanted to do enough to get thrown out, in my opinion
David Price
Price, 35, has known Ali for years and the pair have sparred together in the past.
And the heavyweight claimed the Birmingham fighter “just wanted to do enough to get thrown out.”
Ali faces a disciplinary hearing with the British Boxing Board of Control and sparked fury among the supporters.
One fan even confronted him as he was exiting Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, while others lobbed pints of beer over him.
Ali added: “I have had a conversation with David Price.
“I really appreciate the way he has shown great dignity in how he has dealt with the matter and has graciously accepted my apology.
“I admit that it was embarrassing for me, but I learned that nobody appreciates such poor behaviour.”
