EDDIE HEARN has shared a shocking picture of a battered Scott Fitzgerald after he beat Anthony Fowler on Saturday.
The 27-year-old survived a ninth round onslaught before sending rival Fowler to the canvas and winning on a split decision.
And promoter Hearn put the image on to his Instagram page with the Preston brawler barely able to see as he takes a selfie.
Both eye sockets appear various shades of purple and blue thanks to some accurate punching from Fowler at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena.
Hearn said: “Toughest sport in the world! Always respect the fighters!
BEST DAD EVER
“New @wbaboxingofficial international champ @scottfitz91 after his war on Saturday.”
Fitzgerald took home the WBA international super welterweight title after his win.
And he posted a heartfelt post to girlfriend Jaz Jaz, along with a message denying rumours he had abandoned his pregnant ex-partner.
He said: “Wouldn’t of [sic] got here without this Angel not a chance!
“Heard a few horrible rumours going around that I’ve left my ex alone to bring up our child but that isn’t true and I want to help and support as much as possible, I’m a good person, I’ll be the best dad ever #promise.”
Fitzgerald looks set to face Ted Cheeseman next after the BBBC ordered the Londoner to defend his British title against him in July.
