EDDIE HEARN has dismissed Tyson Fury’s fight against unknown German Tom Schwarz as "terrible" - but praised the Gypsy King for raking in the cash.
Fury, 30, is set to face WBO No2 ranked heavyweight contender Schwarz - with the fight expected to be announced this weekend.
The fight will be Fury’s first on ESPN after signing an £80million deal - which ultimately saw his rematch with WBC champion Deontay Wilder shelved.
Speaking to Hearn said the choice of opponent is a huge disappointment.
The Matchroom promoter said: “It’s a terrible fight when you’re going from rematching Deontay Wilder then fighting Tom Schwarz.
“But I have to admire Tyson Fury, if he can get paid the kind of money he’s reportedly getting paid to fight Tom Schwarz - congratulations.”
SunSport suggested how the fight with Schwarz makes a mockery of the Gypsy King’s claims about wanting to fight the best and is bad news for fans.
Almost four months after his sensational performance against Wilder, 33, which should have secured him the WBC heavyweight world title, Fury looks set to return to poor opposition.
With Fury set to fight Schwarz, it left Wilder open to face his WBC mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale.
Wilder will defend his green and gold belt on May 18, after he snubbed a three-fight deal from Hearn and DAZN and a chance of a unification bout with WBA, IBF and WBO champ AJ.
