The 10 top earning British boxers per punch with Fury and Khan ahead of Joshua

Anthony Joshua does not make the top three when it comes to money earned per punch for any of his fights

AMIR KHAN earned a whopping £213,000 per punch during his knockout by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in 2016.

That's the highest purse earned per punch by a Brit - beating the likes of Ricky Hatton, David Haye, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Ladbrokes released a

Khan’s 2016 round six knockout loss to Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in which the Brit landed 48 punches earned him £10.2million - totalling to £213,784 per shot landed.

This was the highest earner with Hatton’s 2007 round 10 loss to Floyd Mayweather coming in second.

Hatton landed 63 shots in his £9.4m payday meaning he raked in £150,353 per punch.

In third place was Haye, who earned £10m against Wladimir Klitschko in 2011 and after landing 72 shots totalled to £138,889 per punch.

Fury’s recent outing against Deontay Wilder brought in the Gypsy King £7.8m and totalled £93,971 per punch after hitting his American opponent with 84 total shots.

Amazingly, Joshua only comes in at No5 for his round 11 stoppage of Klitschko in 2017 - with 107 punches landed, AJ made £93,458 per shot landed.

Carl Froch’s 2014 round eight KO against bitter rival George Groves gave him a £8m payday and after landing 96 punches totaled to £83,333 per punch landed.

Lennox Lewis made £13.8 when he finally fought Mike Tyson in 2002 - and after stopping “Iron Mike” in round eight with a total of 193 shots landed the Brit made £71,574 per punch.

When “Prince” Naseem Hamed was beaten for the first time in 2001 - the flashy featherweight earned £6.7m.

Hamed landed 141 punches along the way to a points loss meaning he made £47,585 per shot landed.

Kell Brook stepped up from welterweight to middleweight in 2016 and was stopped by Gennady Golovkin in five rounds - receiving a £3.9m purse.

Brook landed 85 punches in his title tilt meaning he earned £46,433 per shot.

Joe Calzaghe was paid £7.8m when he fought ring legend Roy Jones Jr in 2008 and landed 344 shots in a hard fought 12 rounds - meaning the Welshman made £22,946 per punch.
