Furious Anthony Joshua fans update Miller’s Wikipedia page in show of anger at June 1 fight in New York
AJ announced boxing's latest worst kept secret as he officially makes his Stateside debut on June 1 at Madison Square Garden - but fans are not pleased
BOXING fans are so unimpressed by the announcement Anthony Joshua will fight Jarrell Miller they have already changed the American's Wikipedia page with their prediction for the fight.
Joshua revealed boxing's worst kept secret as he announced he will be making his Stateside debut on June 1 at Madison Square Garden.
The 29-year-old took to Twitter to announce the next defence of his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world titles.
Joshua said: “I’m going to be travelling over to New York on June the 1st, I will be defending my heavyweight championship titles at MSG, aka Madison Square Garden, against a fighter named Jarrell Miller aka Big Baby Miller.
“It’s going to be live on DAZN,it’s going to be live on Sky Sports.
“You know the current state of the heavyweight division right now - it’s full of boxing politics, but you know how it goes, I’ve just gotta roll with the punches.
“I would have loved to fight at Wembley Stadium and brought you guys the undisputed championship of the world.
“But I’m looking forward to the new challenge. It’s 2019, I asked for new challenges and this is one that’s presented itself.”
The announcement comes after promoter Eddie Hearn insisted offers to fight Joshua at Wembley Stadium on April 13 were snubbed by Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte.
Boxing fans were vying to see Joshua meet WBC king Wilder in an undisputed world title fight - or failing that, a domestic showdown with either Fury or Whyte.
One outraged fan even updated Miller’s Wikipedia page predicting a Joshua win, while others suggested AJ looks as deflated as the public with the match-up.
One said: "Someone's already taken the liberty of updating @BIGBABYMILLER 's wiki page..."
Another said: "You sound as disappointed with your next opponent just as much as the fight fans do."
One added: "Very very disappointed. Won't be paying for this thats for sure. Should of at least been whyte if not wilder or fury. At least you and Eddie get a big pay day that's all that matters I guess."
