Dillian Whyte confirms Anthony Joshua fight is ‘dead’ after they fail to agree a fee
AJ had the home of football booked but that show has now been canned as he could not land a fight with Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury or the Body Snatcher
ANTHONY JOSHUA is set to fight Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller in June after Dillian Whyte failed to agree on a fee for the April 13 Wembley show.
AJ had the home of football booked but that show has now been canned as he could not land a fight with Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury or the Body Snatcher.
Instead he will have to wait until the summer to make his ring return against the untested American in New York.
Whyte will instead return to The O2 on April 20 with three heavyweight rivals on his hit-list.
The Brixton ace, speaking live on Sky Sports, said: "The Joshua fight is dead, it's not happening at the minute.
"We wanted the fight, they wanted the fight as well, but sometimes negotiations break down.
"We move on, I'll fight April 20, hopefully here, against Dominic Breazeale, Alexander Povetkin, Luis Ortiz, one of those guys."
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn added: “If it isn't AJ - then it's going to be a pay-per-view show on April 20th.
“We're waiting to see what happens, but it looks like Joshua is going to make his US debut [against Miller] in June."
Miller confirmed he had received an offer from Joshua's camp for a heavyweight world title shot at Madison Square Garden in June.
