SAMUEL VARGAS is heading to Birmingham for the biggest night of his career.
The Colombian-Canadian arrives in the UK for the first time hoping to stun Amir Khan when the pair meet at the Birmingham Arena on September 8.
Who is Amir Khan’s opponent Samuel Vargas?
BORN in Bogota, Vargas turned professional in 2010 when he was just 20 year old.
He is a dual-citizen of both Colombia and Canada, with almost all of his 33 pro fights coming in Quebec or Ontario.
Vargas won his first major belt in 2013, taking the NCC Welterweight championship when he knocked out Manolis Plaitis.
And he’s the current WBA-NABA Welterweight title holder, which he’s successfully defended four times since 2016.
Vargas has also fought American pair Errol Spence Jr and Danny Garcia, but was beaten by both.
