Andre Ward hints at sensational return to boxing after retirement and could come back at heavyweight

FORMER pound-for-pound great Andre Ward has hinted at a spectacular comeback... at heavyweight.
The self-appointed 'Son of God', 33, says he has been working in the gym and feels strong at 199 pounds.
He retired undefeated last year after beating Sergey Kovalev for a second time, leaving him with an unblemished record of 32-0.
The American, who shocked the boxing world with his retirement, said in a social media post that he is “working on something special” after recently admitting he is missing the fight game.
Ward said he has beefed up and hinted at an epic comeback to the sport.
He posted: "Weighed in last night at 199 lbs. All (strong), I promise I been working."

Ward first hinted back in November of 2017, after his second fight with Kovalev, that he was interested at fighting in the heavyweight division after jumping up from super-middleweight to light-heavyweight.
Ward said: "There's certain guys you don't mess with and those guys are too big.

"I respect them, but you got to find the right opponent and the right situation. So maybe one day.
Ward could be looking at joining names like Roy Jones Jr. and James Toney - fighter’s that moved up from middleweight and super middleweight to fight in the heavyweight division.
