Anthony Joshua offers to be Prince Harry’s best man for his wedding to Meghan Markle
World heavyweight champion interviewed by Prince Harry on Radio 4's Today programme and followed up by making a bid for a role at the Royal Wedding
ANTHONY JOSHUA has made a cheeky bid to become best man for Prince Harry next year.
Harry is due to marry American actress Meghan Markle in May in a Royal Wedding in Windsor.
But the prince took time off from planning for the big day by becoming guest editor of Radio 4's the Today Programme.
World heavyweight champion Joshua was one of Harry's big name guests along with former US President Barack Obama.
And after the pair messed about for pictures, British boxing hero Joshua decided to stake his claim for a starring role on May 19.
He tweeted a picture of himself with Harry, and wrote: "Back to work this morning! Congrats on everything this year and no pressure on the R4 guest edit.
"PS - need a best man?"
Speaking on the morning radio programme, the boxer said: "Winning is the easy part. Taking on the responsibility of being a champion is the hard part."
He added: "It's important to be real - we do make mistakes, we aren't perfect but we are trying."

Joshua is now one of the biggest sporting superstars in Britain after establishing himself as the best heavyweight on the planet in 2017.
His thrilling 11th round knock-out victory over Wladimir Klitschcko at Wembley in April caught the imagination of the country outside of just boxing fans.
Since then celebrities around the globe have clamoured to meet the 28-year-old from Watford, who also won a gold medal at London 2012.
