Amir Khan insists he is still a boxer despite entering the jungle

The 30-year-old hasn’t fought since his crushing defeat to Canelo Alvarez in May 2016 after personal setbacks and a hand injury.

But it appears Khan fans will have to wait a while longer to see him back in action after admitting “there’s no fights.”

The Bolton-born Brit’s figure also looks a far cry from the fighter who was once crowned light-welterweight world champion.

On discussing why he opted to enter the jungle, he said: “I’m still a boxer, I’m training but there’s no fights on.

“I’m only going to be away from training and home a few weeks. I’ll use it as a detox at the same time.”

It is believed Khan is being paid 10 times as much as other contestants in the jungle – pocketing a staggering £250,000.

His personal life has been thrown in the limelight after he sensationally accused fellow boxer Anthony Joshua of having an affair with his wife.
