The former world champion boxer was embroiled in a huge row across social media with both making accusations against each for the reason behind their split.

But he took time to get away from his own personal problems to make a visit to check on the recovery of seven-year-old neuroblastoma sufferer Ali Hassan.

Khan had heard about the plight of the boy, whose illness forced surgeons to remove his right eye, and vowed to pay for the operation to correct the fall-out from the initial surgery.

Ali, who lives in Pakpattan, suffered a reaction to having his eye removed which saw a giant tumour spreading out of the wound.

It was growing so big it was beginning to effect his ability to breath properly, and specialists feared it would swell to such a size Ali would die.

So Khan got in touch with the youngster’s parents and promised to stump up the money for the tumour to be removed – and also vowed to visit the boy when it was done.
