CONOR MCGREGOR’S superfight with Floyd Mayweather is far from official but that hasn’t stopped bookmakers taking over £7,700 worth of bets on the bout.
Talks over a blockbuster boxing match between the two giants of their sport have seemingly ground to a halt in recent weeks.
But excited fans are seemingly getting ahead of themselves by lumping money on the final outcome with UFC star McGregor taking the majority of bets.

, SuperBook in Las Vegas have taken more than £7,700 bets since the market opened in mid-February.
One punter reportedly put over £1000 on the Irishman beating the undefeated boxing champ.
Out of the first 42 bets placed on the fight, 40 of them were put on McGregor to hand Mayweather his first taste of defeat.
But all bets will be refunded if the fight doesn’t take place by May 13, 2018.
At the moment it appears as though punters will get their money back as talks are not progressing smoothly.
Executive vice president of Showtime Sports, who have screened every Mayweather bout since 2013, believes the UFC are dragging their heels over talks.
Stephen Espinoza said: “It’s largely at a standstill.
“There hasn’t been a ton of progress and I think if they don’t move relatively quickly, people may move on. People may tire of it.
“I think the real question – and it’s sort of a black box right now – is where’s the UFC really, on this?
Do they, in fact, want it? Dana – speaking on behalf of, I assume, the UFC – is making noises that he’s more open to it but talk is talk.
“I haven’t seen a lot of progress either internally in the deal between the two of them or externally, the deal between that side and this side.”
