Tony Bellew says he would love ‘world-class’ Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to return to Everton as he speaks ahead of David Haye fight at London’s O2 Arena
Bellew is a huge Everton fan, and has questioned why The Toffees WOULDN'T want to add a world class player to their ranks
TONY BELLEW is hoping Wayne Rooney takes the decision to return to Everton.
The Manchester United man's future is up in the air amid rumours he is set to leave the club this summer.
And Bellew, who is a lifelong and passionate Everton fan, is hoping the 31-year-old returns to Goodison Park.

Speaking at the final press conference ahead of his domestic dust-up with David Haye, Bellew said: "I wouldn't say I know him [Rooney] well, but I know him well enough.
"I would love him to come back to Everton, why wouldn't we want a world class footballer at Everton Football Club?
"He's a Blue, I speak to Wazz, his kids go to games, he's done amazing things at Manchester United, he's been one of the best players in the world, for a long period of time."
The Red Devils skipper has fallen out of favour with boss Jose Mourinho but turned down a mega-money offer from the Chinese Super League.
And just days ago, SunSport revealed how Toffees boss Ronald Koeman insists Rooney still has something to offer at the top level of the game - and that could be with Everton.
The Merseysiders had a bid for their former teenage star turned down in January, and Koeman said: "I still think Wayne Rooney is playing at a high level and he made a good choice staying at Manchester United and in the Premier League.
"He still has two or three years in front of him to play at the highest level.
"What will happen at the end of the season, I do not know? In my opinion he’s one of the players who can make Everton stronger than they are now.
"It’s all about what the player likes, what Manchester United need to do and we are not involved in that project.
"Every player who we feel can make the team stronger is welcome at Everton."
Bellew, meanwhile, is going through his final preparations ahead of his mouthwatering boxing clash at London's O2 Arena against David Haye on Saturday night.
