David Haye faces fight ban as British boxing’s top man blasts his offensive outburst
DAVID HAYE faces a fight ban after British boxing’s top man blasted him for his offensive “f****** r****ds” outburst.
The former world heavyweight champ launched his insult after being taunted by fans of opponent Tony Bellew in Liverpool on Monday. The pair collide in a high-octane grudge match at the O2 on Saturday.
Scouser Bellew could also be banned if the pair’s poisonous war of words explodes again. British Boxing Board of Control chief Robert Smith blasted Haye and revealed there will be a meeting of officials next Wednesday to discuss punishment.

Smith said: “We’ll get the fight out of the way and do what we deem necessary. It’s not a very good term and shouldn’t be used. We are very disappointed with this behaviour.
“There had been lots of comments around this fight already and now this. We take all these matters very seriously.”
Haye, 36, and Bellew, 34, were warned about their conduct by the BBBC after they clashed at a press conference last November.
Board officials have the power to suspend the pair’s licences if they feel the standing and image of the sport has been sufficiently damaged.
General secretary Smith added: “I have conversations with all the parties involved with regard to the further lead-up to the contest.
“They had all been warned already and I reiterate that warning.
“It so happens that we have a Board meeting next Wednesday when this will be discussed.”
