BOXERS Bektemir Melikuziev and Pierre Dibombe were left so bloodied their bout failed to see the full 12 rounds.
The super-middleweight faced off on the undercard of Devin Haney's grudge bout against Ryan Garcia in New York.
But both were left with horror cuts through the space of seven rounds.
Melikuziev's left eye was severely sliced open as a result of an accidental clash of heads.
Meanwhile, Dibombe suffered a similar gash below his eyebrow.
But Melikuziev's blow to the eye earlier in the fight proved too much to overcome and he was pulled out by the ringside doctor.
As it was a clash of heads that caused the cut - not a legal blow - the bout was sent to the scorecards early.
And Melikuziev was awarded the decision victory to retain his WBA intercontinental title.
The gruesome pair of gashes left boxing fans sickened, as one said: "You don't play boxing..."
Another added: "Right on the eyelid jeez."
