Anthony Crolla beaten on points by Jorge Linares and relinquishes his world title
The popular Manchester boxer fell to a unanimous points defeat to the tough Venezuelan in front of a partisan home crowd
- Anthony Crolla lost his world title to Jorge Linares at the Manchester Arena.
- Linares also takes home the WBC Diamond title, and the coveted Ring Magazine belt.
- Crolla says afterwards that "it was a pleasure to share the ring with a great like Linares."
- The defeat is Crolla's fourth of his career, but he now hopes to get a rematch.
- Packed undercard saw Conor Benn, son of ring great Nigel, defeat Ross Jameson 60-55 on points, and ex-Manchester City youth footballer Marcus Morrison stops Matiouze Royer in the first minute.
