Kell Brook desperate for Saul Alvarez fight when he recovers from eye surgery
The Brit, 30, will undergo surgery on his broken right eye socket on Friday but is keen on a quick return to the ring
KELL BROOK is keen to secure a showdown with Saul Alvarez when he returns from injury.
Brook, 30, will undergo surgery on his broken right eye socket on Friday having been pulled out by trainer Dominic Ingle in the fifth round of his bout with middleweight kingpin Gennady Golovkin on September 10.
The IBF welterweight champion stepped up two weights to face Golovkin at London's O2 and enhanced his reputation with a gutsy display against the undefeated Kazakh.
And he fancies a super-fight with Alvarez, who stopped Liam Smith in the ninth round on Saturday night to win the WBO super-welterweight title.
Brook said: "I'd love that fight with Canelo. I just want to be in those big fights.
"I had a taste with the Golovkin fight and the attention around it is exciting for a fighter to be in."
