Eddie Hearn: Chris Eubank Jr set to fight Gennady Golovkin in London in Autumn
British middleweight champion has been working his way toward a world title shot since vacating his interim WBA title in October 2014
GENNADY GOLOVKIN has "virtually agreed" to fight Chris Eubank Jr, according to Eddie Hearn.
The promoter claims he is eyeing a London venue for the Kazakh sensation to meet the cocksure Brit in Autumn.
Eubank will fight fight Tom Doran at the O2 on Saturday on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's IBF heavyweight title defence against Dominic Breazeale.
And Hearn told : "There's a few things to tie up but basically if everyone wants this fight then it's all there to sign.
"If Golovkin really wants this fight, and I believe he does, and if Eubank wants the fight, which he does, then there's a real chance of that fight happening in London in the autumn.
"I think it would be a stadium fight.
"I think there would be the demand for 40-50,000 tickets. There is something nice about being in an arena but as we saw at Goodison Park [for Tony Bellew v Ilunga Makabu], you can guarantee a great atmosphere outdoors too."
