Tyson Fury CONFIRMED to fight Deontay Wilder in trilogy rematch this summer in US leaving Joshua in lurch, says Warren

TYSON FURY will complete his trilogy with Deontay Wilder this summer in America after the beaten former champion exercised his right to an immediate rematch.

Fury's UK promoter Warren confirmed the Bronze Bomber, 34, has decided to take up the opportunity to challenge for the WBC title he lost to Fury at the end of February.

Warren told : “Yes, he’s invoked the rematch clause so that is what we are working towards.

“It’s contracted to take place in the States. That is in the contract and set in stone unless anyone agrees differently.

“But at the moment it is due to take place in the US.

“It will take place by the end of June/early July – no later than that.”

ESPN report the third bout between the heavyweight rivals is being targeted for July 18, back at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

It was there that Wilder was dominated by Fury, 31, twice being floored before his assistant trainer Mark Breland threw in the towel.

Despite the one-sided beating the Bronze Bomber astonishingly insisted the 45lb ring walk costume he wore before the fight "weakened" his legs and affected his performance.

But the Alabaman - who was fortunate to earn a draw against Fury in their first fight - has vowed to win back his WBC title in the trilogy bout, which is obligated to again take place in America.

Unified champion Anthony Joshua - who is set to face IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev at Tottenham's stadium in June - wanted to sign a deal with Fury now to secure a historic undisputed title decider.

Promoter Eddie Hearn explained terms for the Battle of Britain could be thrashed guaranteeing the pair fight should they beat Pulev, 38, and Wilder respectively.

Or Wilder could have been paid 'step aside money' to forfeit his immediate rematch and allow AJ and Fury to put all the heavyweight marbles on the line.

But Warren insists determined Wilder will not be passing up his chance to equal the scoring against the Gypsy King.

He said: “No [he was not offered step-aside money], because he only invoked the clause on Saturday so there have been no discussions.

“The situation is that Anthony Joshua is going to fight Pulev, so you can’t expect Tyson to sit around on his backside inactive.

"So it looks like the fight will happen unless something dramatically changes, which means AJ would have to forsake his fight with Pulev.

"At the moment he [Wilder] is determined to take the rematch.

“He feels for whatever reason that something went wrong with his game plan, and he feels he can rectify it.”
