Eddie Hearn says there will be more YouTube fights as stars line up to fight KSI
EDDIE HEARN predicts a bright future for YouTubers entering the world of boxing after the success of KSI vs Logan Paul 2.
An audience typical of a major title contest watched the internet stars fight in Los Angeles, according to the Matchroom promoter, and that indicates a substantial market for similar bouts.
Although he feels the scale of KSI's victory over Paul was something of a one-off, Hearn sees a place for future celebrities mixing with professionals.
Speaking to , he said: "We’re numbers people in this game. Everyone is. Anything that delivers is good news for everybody.
"What we can’t do is turn into a circus and have random people fighting each other all over the place.
"It’s a one off in that respect for me in terms of headlining a card, with a world championship undercard. I don’t think you’re going to see that a lot.
"Will you see other YouTubers fight on undercards moving forward? Much more likely.”
However KSI's next fight might once again be worthy of topping any bill.
Justin Bieber is among the names floated as a possible opponent for the Watford-born YouTuber, real name Olajide Olayinka Williams.
And established names in the boxing world, such as Tommy Fury and Robin "Britain's worst boxer" Deakin have named KSI as someone they might like to fight.
With the money there, Hearn expects promoters to listen to the array of other online celebs now looking to cross over into boxing.
The 40-year-old added: "If it’s thrilling, if it’s exciting, you’re going to see many more of these, and it won’t just come from me.
"It will come from other promoters who look at the numbers and say, 'we’ve got to do this'.
"We can’t satisfy the demand of all of these celebrities and YouTubers."
