Watch astonishing moment teenage hurdler WINS race despite crashing into second barrier and falling on to track
A TEENAGE athletics star won her 100metre hurdle race despite crashing into the second barrier and falling.
It started to go wrong for Abigail Dennis at the first hurdle where she landed flat footed over the other side.
Dennis wasn’t able to recover her stride and failed to get adequate elevation to clear the second hurdle.
As a result, she crashed into the barrier and fell, handing her opponents in the county championships in New Jersey, US, a healthy six to eight metre advantage.
At this point, most would give up after the disastrous fall. But not Dennis.
She got back up and ate into her fellow competitors’ lead over the next eight hurdles to snatch the win.
