A CHEEKY Liverpool fan failed in his attempt to sign up Chelsea star N'Golo Kante as the player made a surprise appearance at a wedding.

While attending the bash of a friend's daughter, a keyring sporting the Merseyside club's badge was dangled his way.

And Kante rebuffed the fan's joke in good spirit, shaking his head while laughing.

The Reds supporter had remarked: "This is where you need to come, this is where you need to come."

In fact, it isn't the first time that Liverpool secret agents have tried to lure the tough tackling Frenchman to Anfield.

Another unannounced visit, this time to a mosque in North London, saw Kante politely tell a fan he would "think about" switching clubs when asked.

The humble midfielder had popped in for evening prayers having missed his train and ended up having a curry and watching Match of the Day with a group of locals.

This appearance at a wedding was slightly less off the cuff as Kante had met the bride's father, Chelsea fan Frank Khalid, before.

Speaking to The Sun after the bash, West London businessman Khalid revealed how he met the Chelsea star.

He said: "We became friends when I was introduced to him by a friend and he came to my restaurant Chak89.

"I invited him and originally he couldn’t attend because of his commitment to the French national team, but because of his injury he messaged me saying he was coming.

"My family and myself are very close to N'Golo and he was one of the first people to visit me when I had my triple bypass surgery operation in April 2018.

"He stayed till the end and was so nice to everyone and signed autographs and took selfies with the guests."
